How Filming Went
We started filming this task in a school corridor and then moved on to a room. I believe that the overall task went well as we were consistant with our filming and our use of the camera was good. We filmed everything that we were supposed to film within a small amount of time, roughly 3 hours.We also setup the camera using the tripod and took various shots from different views for use when editing.
How Editing Went
Editing went extremely well as we were able to add various effects using final cut pro. We also included all of the editing techniques which are required. This made the overall video look better and as a group we made decisions about which effects to use and which worked best. The editing was fairly easy and we did it in a short amount of time. However, one of the group members was ill meaning that we were unable to edit the rest of the clip without him.
Problems You Encountered
As a group we did encounter some small problems such as where to film and who was going to act. Although we were eventually able to solve this, we were slightly short of the amount of film we needed and had to go back and film again. However, we couldn't do this because of continuity as the actors were wearing different clothing and weren't in the same position. The story we came up with took some thinking and had to retake many shots to insure they were correct.
Strengths of the Prelim
We had a large amount of space to film our prelim as we did it in the graphics corridor. This allowed us to film most of our video without any continuity errors as there weren't many people who walked in whilst we were filming. The room was also quiet which meant that we had no sound issues and the filming didn't take very long.
Weaknesses of the Prelim
Although we were able to produce our video without any continuity errors, there were some that we had to re-film as people sometimes got in the way of the camera and things were moved around a lot. It also took us some time to think of what we were going to film and what people were going to say. People also often forgot their dialogue which meant that we had to re-film various scenes.
What you will remember to do the same next time
Next time we will remember to include various effects that we know work well and will use the tripod to gain a smoother shot whilst filming.
What you will remember to do differently next time
Next time we will remember to film all of our video before moving onto editing and plan a bit more before moving onto filming.
